30 Day Shred - Day 5

Today is day 5 of the 30 Day Shred workout.  I am really starting to enjoy this workout.  I can push myself a little harder each workout.  I can now complete the whole workout without stopping for a break.  I am using 3 pound weights and almost ready to try the 5 pound weights.  I am still doing knee push ups and by the end of day 10 (end of Level 1) I hope to be able to do push ups from the feet.  My legs are sure starting to get sore.  I must say that I am impressed that I am still sticking with this workout routine.  I really hope that I can make it to the end of the 30 days.

The start of my Journey

This blog is going to be about my weight loss and getting fit after having a baby.  My first (only... so far) son was born on February 28, 2013.  At the beginning of my pregnancy I was pretty active, and was around 160 pounds.  I played soccer until I was around 3 months pregnant, and then the working out stopped.  I started gaining weight slowly, but in the last trimester I gained lots of weight fast!  The day before my c-section I weighed 240 pounds.  Yup, that's an 80 pound weight gain.

Today, 4.5 months later I am 183 pounds.  The first 3.5 months I did no workouts or exercises, but I did watch what I was eating.  To be honest, I thought that since I was breastfeeding that the weight would just fall off fast.  Well, I was wrong.  I have been this weight before about 6 years ago and when I finally decided to workout to try to lose weight it took me a whole year to lose 30 pounds.  It was hard for sure, because I love food!  This time I am going to try really hard to lose the weight (30 pounds) by the end of this year.  That gives me 5 months.  

The last month I have been playing soccer once a week and baseball twice a week.  I have not lost any weight this past month until this week.

On July 12, 2013 (4 days ago), my weight was 188 pounds.  I decided that day to start the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred workout.  I also took my son for a long walk in the stroller after each workout.  Today, 4 days later, I lost 5 pounds!  I weigh myself everyday, which is a bad habit.

My goal is to be a healthy fit mommy for my son and a sexy wife for my husband :)
